Will Organize June 12 in NY During Streaming Media East


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 2000-- A global 'Committee of 100'
streaming media founding members will oversee the official debut of the
non-profit Streaming Media Alliance, Inc., Monday, June 12, at 6 p.m. in
the Penthouse East Suite on the 45th and 46th floors of the New York Hilton
Hotel, it was announced today.

Then, at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., on June 13, the organization's Task Force on
Capital Growth will sponsor the 1st annual Streaming Media Sector Analyst
Forum featuring a keynote by streaming media expert Seamus McAteer,
Director, Web Technologies, Jupiter Communications (NASDAQ: JPTR - news),
http://www.jup.com, leading sector professionals, and presentations by
On2.com, Inc. (AMEX: ONT - news), Loudeye Technologies (NASDAQ: LOUD -
news), OptiBase Ltd. (NASDAQ: OBAS - news), Streamedia Communications, Inc.
(NASDAQ: SMIL - news), Visual Data Corp. (NASDAQ: VDAT - news) and Network
Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP - news). 

The June 13 investment forum will be broadcast live at

that the June 12 organizing session will be videotaped for on-demand webcast.

The meetings coincide with the seminars and exhibitions of Streaming Media
East scheduled June 12 to 14, but are unaffiliated. Attendees interested

expected exhibition passes will be $40. The Alliance's hospitality suite
will be open from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. June 12 for Members and
prospective Members.

According to a spokesperson for the Alliance, its missions -- to work
together to remove the speed barriers to the information highway, create a
global repository of digital visual content that will soon rival that of
any other communications medium, and pave the way in the coming wireless,
"websiteless" world for the third broadcast revolution -- will be
accomplished through multiple task forces. Information about the

Applicants for membership may email their task force interests to
alliance@hotpop.com. Dues will be waived for the first six months for
Charter Members who join by July 10, 2000.

The Alliance suite will be open from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for Members and
guests to network before going to some of the evening's parties. Members
with musical talents are invited to bring along a musical instrument to
join the 'Streaming Jammers' from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. in the Parlor Room
of the suite.
