The
‘Streaming Media Alliance’ is a democratic, non-profit networking
organization of Internet companies and individuals working together on
a global basis to serve as a resource to the streaming community and to
promote development of the streaming industry.
The
Alliance was formed at Streaming Media East on June 12, 2000. An organizational
meeting was held in the Penthouse West Suite of the New York Hilton Hotel
and Towers. A networking reception was hosted by MediaLink.com, limousines
to events afterwards were sponsored by Medium4.com.The organizing session
was taped by Xportical.com.
The Alliance’s
Task Force on Capital Growth co-sponsored the first annual ‘Streaming Media
Sector Analyst Forum’ on June 13 in the Penthouse West Suite of the NY
Hilton. Featuring a keynote by sector analyst Seamus McAteer, Director,
Web Technologies, Jupiter Communications, Inc., the Forum also included
a panel of investment bankers and financial analysts, a media panel, and
financial presentations by six public companies in the sector.
